Daniel Ernest is an entrepreneur, creator, and passionate advocate for the game of hockey. As the founder of the Texas Scorpions Pro Roller Hockey Team, he has made it his mission to grow the sport across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, building opportunities for players and fans while cultivating a thriving roller hockey community.

Beyond the rink, Daniel is the co-founder of Lightning Rod Energy, a brand built on innovation, performance, and authenticity. With a natural drive for business and creativity, he thrives on developing ventures that inspire people and bring communities together.

Daniel’s love for content creation fuels his work, allowing him to connect with audiences in fresh and engaging ways. Whether it’s growing businesses, building brands, or expanding the reach of roller hockey, his focus is always on making an impact and leaving something greater behind.

Josh Messick

Co-Owner & Assistant General Manager

Josh Messick, better known online as Mic’d Up Messy, is a creator, goalie, and community-builder with a passion for bringing hockey to life in front of the camera. With a thriving YouTube channel and a large social media presence, he’s earned a reputation for his authentic, entertaining, and often hilarious content that gives fans an inside look at the game.

Off the ice, Josh is known for his happy-go-lucky personality and genuine love for connecting with others. A proud family man, he balances content creation with being a devoted husband and father, keeping his roots and values at the center of everything he does.

Through his work, Josh continues to grow the game of hockey, inspire fellow creators, and remind fans that the sport is about more than wins and losses—it’s about passion, community, and fun.

Joe Wilkinson

Co-Owner & Event Coordination

Joe Wilkinson is a proud supporter of roller hockey in Texas and a driving force behind community sports in Denton. As the owner of Lone Star Events & Sports, he has helped create a home for athletes and families to experience competition and camaraderie, while fostering growth for the game in North Texas.

Beyond sports, Joe is also the owner of Keen Glass Solutions, where his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership have built a reputation for quality and reliability. His commitment to excellence carries over into everything he does, from business to community impact.

With the Texas Scorpions, Joe brings his passion for people, teamwork, and opportunity to help grow the game of roller hockey and support its future in the DFW area.

Blaine Werschky

Co-owner & Media Manager

Blaine Wershkey is a creative entrepreneur and videographer whose work helps bring the Texas Scorpions’ story to life. Currently a college student, Blaine has already built an impressive portfolio, blending his passion for media with a sharp business mindset.

For more than two years, he has worked closely with Daniel Ernest and Josh Messick, capturing content, building brands, and helping grow the game through engaging storytelling. His ability to showcase the energy and personality of the team has made him an invaluable part of the Scorpions’ mission.

Balancing entrepreneurship, education, and creativity, Blaine represents the next generation of leaders using media to expand the reach of hockey in Texas and beyond.
